Dentist
Our dentist provides clinical dental services and preventive dental care in a community health center setting. Supervises the Dental Assistants/Hygienists/EFDA and collaborates with the Public Health Dental Hygienist. The position requires someone who has comprehensive knowledge of primary dental care in outpatient setting, knowledge of the principles and practice of modern dentistry as related to public health organizations and community health programs and current social and economic problems pertaining to public health and their impact on primary health care.
Public Health Dental Hygienist
Our Public Health Dental Hygienist is a registered professional that provides quality dental care and associated services to patients without the authorization, assignment or examination by a Dentist. Performs the dental hygiene services and procedures permitted by the scope of practice as outlined in Pennsylvania Code33.205b.(a) Integrates quality improvement and cost-effective methods of providing care. Participates actively in BCHC’s mission to provide exceptional patient-centered primary and preventive healthcare for all residents of Berks County, regardless of economic status.
Expanded Functions Dental Assistant
The Expanded Function Dental Assistant supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment room, patient, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the dental practice act. The EFDA actively supports BCHC in its efforts to maintain designation as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and as a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). Participates actively in BCHC’s mission to provide exceptional patient-centered primary and preventive healthcare for all residents of Berks County, regardless of patient status.
Bilingual Medical Assistant
The Bilingual Medical Assistant serves as member of a clinical support team that along with a Nursing Care Coordinator (NCC) and Patient Services Representative (PSR) support a designated Provider to integrate each patient’s care across all conditions and health care needs – both within BCHC and between BCHC and all other health care providers and settings. Under the leadership of the Nursing Care Coordinator (NCC) and the Provider, the MA carries out processes that operationalize BCHC’s mission to provide exceptional patient-centered primary and preventive healthcare for all residents of Berks County, regardless of economic status. The MA actively supports BCHC in its efforts to maintain designation as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and as a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). Participates actively in BCHC’s mission to provide exceptional patient-centered primary and preventive healthcare for all residents of Berks County, regardless of patient status.

Bilingual Community Health Worker
The Bilingual Community Health Worker serves as a liaison between Berks Community Health Center and the community to provide culturally appropriate health education and information, help people get the care they need, give informal counseling and guidance on health behaviors, advocate for individual and community health needs, and provide some direct services such as first aid and blood pressure screening. The CHW has knowledge and experience of the community they represent and serve which provides a unique ability to bring information where it is needed most. The CHW reaches community residents where they live, eat, play, work, and worship. The CHW conducts on-the-ground outreach and provides health information within the community, at community events or at client’s home, if applicable. The CHW is a frontline agent of change, helping to reduce health disparities in Berks County’s underserved communities.
Community Outreach & Enrollment
The Community Outreach and Enrollment Specialist is an integral member of the Berks Community Health Center (BCHC) team. S/he will provide eligibility and enrollment assistance for the Medicaid, CHIP, and Pennie Marketplace health insurance programs to uninsured patients of the health center and community residents. The Community Outreach and Enrollment Specialist will implement in-reach, outreach, and education activities about affordable health insurance options to these individuals and families and will help them enroll in health insurance. S/he will facilitate intake appointments with new patients to assure they are well oriented on BCHC services, locations, and processes. The Specialist will collaborate with Berks County’s non-profit organizations, employers, businesses, schools, hospitals, to provide outreach, education and enrollment assistance for those individuals that are uninsured. This position will also have the opportunity to educate patients and the community on BCHC services. The Community Outreach and Enrollment Specialist actively supports BCHC in its efforts to maintain designation as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and as a Primary Care Medical Home (PCMH). Participates actively in BCHC’s mission to provide exceptional patient-centered primary and preventive healthcare for all residents of Berks County, regardless of patient status.
