Evelyn Colon-Vazquez is a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a National Certified Counselor (NCC), Trauma-informed certified, as well as Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) with experience of assisting children, youth, adults, families, and military personnel, for more than 15 years in the home, school, outpatient, partial hospitalization, and community settings. Evelyn completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology, Pre-medical technology and with a minor in Chemistry at Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, and during her Senior year she was president of Caduceus – Pre-medical society. Evelyn attended Alvernia University and obtained her Master of Arts in Community Counseling. Also, Evelyn has been trained in Prolonged exposure therapy from Cognitive Behavioral Institute. She uses evidenced-based techniques to maximize positive outcomes and help others improve their quality of life within diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds, in both individual and group settings. Her areas of specialties are treating trauma, depression, anxiety, and family conflicts. She enjoys interacting with others in the community to instill hope, foster alternative and positive changes, increase awareness, and help them build resiliency.
