Helping With Your Emotional and Mental Health Needs

Woman Having Counseling Session

Your Behavioral Health Specialist will help with any emotional or mental health needs that you may have.

Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) is an approach to health care that provides on-site access to patients with medical, substance abuse and behavioral health.  Your medical team works together with you to provide comprehensive care that meets your individual needs.

Our Integrated Behavioral Health program provides short-term counseling. If you need longer-term counseling services, we can refer you to an excellent provider in Berks County.  BCHC is here to help.  Call 610-988-4838 to make an appointment.

Integrated Behavioral health services include help with:
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Smoking cessation
  • Substance abuse
  • Stress Management
  • Inability to control chronic health conditions like: Pain Management, Diabetes, Hypertension
How do I get started with the IBH team?

All patients that are seen by our Licensed Clinical Social Workers must be medical patients with Berks Community Health Center and should have had a visit with their medical provider prior to the first appointment.

Is this long term therapy?

No.  Our IBH team is here to help you handle life stressors and help you create a plan to get you through those situations.  We would refer out to a community partner to help with chronic depression or other ongoing issues.

What does and IBH visit look like?
  1. A brief 15 - 30 minute session that can take place during a medical visit or scheduled separately.
  2. You may need a follow up appointment as needed.  The therapist will explore your current needs and reason for your IBH visit.  You will be introduced to interventions to improve your quality of life.
  3. Your Primary Care Provider will be involved with the process.
  4. You will be screened for acute stressors such as depression, anxiety, sleep difficulty, health management etc.
